A puppet show based on Tchaikovsky's ballet, Sleeping Beauty, will run in the Gaiety Theatre, Dublin, throughout May and June. The Paula Lambert Puppet Theatre is preparing a magical production of the story suitable for all children up to the age of nine years.
Lambert has worked on a variety of puppet shows and has taken part in many television shows including Murphy agus a Chairde, Brogeen, Wanderly Wagon, Fortycoats Bosco. She also presented Our Times, her own TV programme for young people.
Puppetry encompasses all branches of the arts. As well as manipulating puppets, a knowledge of music, drama, scripting and set design is important. Sleeping Beauty will be performed at 10.30 a.m. during the week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. To book or to get more information, phone the Gaiety at (01) 677 1717.
