A series of free screenings of A Bug's Life, the new Disney/Pixar film, will be run for teachers and pupils next month in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway and Mullingar. A study guide drawing on themes from the film has been written by the education department of the Film Institute of Ireland.
The film deals with insect life, looking at individuals and societies, entertainment and inventions. The study guide explores these themes and suggests ways in which they may be incorporated into the primary curricululm. The guide is free to teachers.
A short teachers' workshop will follow each screening. Places at the screenings are limited to 35 per school.
