Development Education Grants Scheme 2006

Development Co-operation Ireland, the Government's official development assistance programme, invites applications from voluntary organisations and educational bodies for grants for development education projects, which are designed to increase awareness and understanding of development issues.

Development education has a crucial role to play in increasing public understanding in Ireland of development issues, especially as they relate to developing countries. It seeks to challenge attitudes which perpetuate poverty and injustice and through education to empower people to act to bring about more equal development.

Funding guidelines and forms are available on the DCI website: www.dci.gov.ie

The closing date for applications is 5pm, Friday, January 27th, 2006. For further information tel: 01-4082096 or e-mail: developmenteducation@dfa.ie
