CAIRO TO CAPE TOWN: Link Community Development, an international NGO working in the education and health sectors across Ireland and five African countries, is currently organising the Cairo to Cape Town Challenge, an event for schools, clubs, businesses and individuals.
Participating schools will receive a custom-designed map of Africa, educational information about countries on the route, and a participation pack bursting with fundraising ideas.

STUDENT WINS TRIP TO STRASBOURG: Avril Constant, a student at Christ King Secondary School in Cork city, has won an all expenses paid four-day trip to Strasbourg. The prize is one of 25 awarded to participants in the Graduate Online Quiz, which aims to increase students' civic, social and political awareness.
Last year, Avril entered the competition as part of a Transition Year European Studies module. Next March, she will meet students from all over Europe and spend a day in the European Parliament debating on various issues.
