Delegates at last week's annual congress of the Irish Vocational Education Association (IVEA) called on the Department of Edcuation and Science to provide courses for teachers who want work in Irish-speaking areas. The IVEA, representing management bodies of the 33 VECs in the State, heard of a growing shortage of teachers able to work in these areas.
