Louise Heraghty Presenter, 98FM
Where did you go to school? Mercy Primary and Mercy College, Sligo.
What was your best subject? Art and French, but surprisingly biology was my best subject for Leaving Cert.
Who was your favourite teacher and why? In primary it was Miss Murray because she was a great teacher and on a Friday she read us a novel and gave us sweets (those lovely satin cushion ones). I am still in contact with some of my secondary school teachers through fundraising events so I don't want to pick just one, they were all lovely!
Who was your childhood idol? Mark Owen from Take That (I'm afraid I was caught up in the boy band phenomenom of the 1990s).
Who was your best friend and why? Elaine Gordon; we sat beside each other on the first day of primary school and have been through almost everything together ever since.
What is he/she doing now? Elaine is working for the ESB in Dublin (and living with me).
What TV show/film most reminds you of your school days? Den TV with Ray D'arcy, especially Mary Fitzgerald's How Do You Do - I tried unsuccessfully to make everything on that show. On a Friday afternoon it was Fun House on ITV with Pat Sharpe. Films: Grease, and My Girl with Macauly Culkin - it was so sad when you were 11.
What song most reminds you of your school days? Anything from Grease because I was in the musical twice and I watched the film about 50 times.
What food most reminds you of your school days? Bainne and porridge.
Who did you take to your debs? Michael McNamara from Sligo.
Would you send your children to the same school you went to? Absolutely - in at least 10 years.
What was the best thing about your education? My final year as head girl in the Mercy; I was lucky enough to have the best friends ever and we are still in contact.
What was the worst thing about your education? The blue uniform.
