GUIDANCE Counselling - Enlightening the Educational Process is the theme for this year's Institute of Guidance Counsellors annual general meeting.

Speakers include Professor Joe Lee, head of the department of history at UCC and Delores Heffernan, co ordinator of the career guidance and counselling training course in UCD.

More than 300 guidance counsellors are expected to converge on the Curragh to attend the conference. There will be workshops on a variety of topics, including useful day to day management areas. Information on software tools used in career guidance will be provided.

"The importance of the role of personal counselling in second level schools is not overlooked," says Bernadette Fagan Gleeson of the Kill dare organising committee.
