Food safety competition

Transition Year students with an interest in food safety are invited to take part in a competition on food engineering

Transition Year students with an interest in food safety are invited to take part in a competition on food engineering. It's being run by the Institution of Engineers of Ireland (IEI) in association with the food engineering programmes in UCC, UCD and QUB. This is the second annual Transition Year competition.

A maximum of four students may collaborate on a project, but individual entries are also welcome. There is no limit to the number of projects which may be submitted by a school. Students have to carry out a project on food engineering with particular emphasis on food safety. The prize money goes to the pupils, not the school. Prizes are £1,000, £300 and £200. Entry forms must be in by Thursday, February 4th. Details available from Dr Christine Somers, IEI, 22 Clyde Road, Dublin 4 - phone (01) 668 4341, fax (01) 668 5508, email somers@indigo.ie
