Festival gets very dramatic

The First Irish Student Drama Festival of the millennium kicks off this Sundayin Dublin. With 15 colleges from all over the country, 24 shows and seven original scripts, ISDF 2000 promises to be an exciting week of theatrical events. The festival begins with Hurly Burly by David Rabe at UCD this Sunday and runs until Saturday, March 25th, closing with a production of Moll by John B Keane at the SFX City Theatre.

Each morning at 10 a.m. in TCD's Samuel Beckett Centre, the judges will critique the previous day's plays. The Fringe Festival Club will be at the SFX City Theatre, on Upper Sherrard Street, from 11 p.m. to 2.30 p.m. nightly, with full bar facilities.

The festival club will feature the alternative vibes of student drama with three different 25-minute pieces presented each night followed by sketches, monologues, live DJs and bands.
