If you're in artistic form, line up your brushes, crayons and pencils - an art competition run by the ASTI and the National Museum was launched last week in Dublin for second-level students. Over the coming weeks you will be encouraged to draw inspiration from the museum's collection and create a work of art yourself.
The theme of is Interpreting Irish life, history and culture . This is a chance to have your work exhibited in a non-competitive environment at exhibitions in Dublin, Cork, Galway, Kilkenny, Longford and Sligo. The project will culminate in a gala national exhibition at the National Museum in Collins Barracks, Dublin, in April. For information, ask your art teacher or phone the ASTI at (01) 604 0172.
