The Irish Association of Social Workers is the national organisation of professional social workers. The National Social Work Qualifications Board is the authority for the profession. It accredits social work courses and grants the National Qualification in Social Work to graduates.

Social Workers start out on £21,437 working with health boards and can earn up to £40,232 at the senior grades.
