The Institute of Designers of Ireland is a professional body which represents interior designers.

Approximate salaries for graduates: Rhodec Diploma (Dublin Institute of Design) - graduate £12-£14,000, five years postgrad £18-20,000.

BA, interior and furniture design (DIT) - graduate £15-£16,000, five years postgrad £21-23,000.

D.Des, interior architecture (Griffith College) - graduate £16-£18,000, five years postgrad £24-£27,000.

Both interior design and interior architecture courses require portfolios for entry. Students are advised to be very focused and selective in their portfolios and can contact the relevant college for advice.
