Hosford's Geraniums and Garden Centre, which is located in Enniskeane, Co Cork (on the main Bandon to Clonakilty road), is running a number of events for keen gardeners over the October Bank Holiday weekend. This Saturday at 3p.m. there will be a tour of the centre by John Anderson (the head gardener at Mount Usher) who will talk about the different plants available and their uses in the garden.
On Sunday 28th there will be a puppet show for children at 3 p.m. while the adults can enjoy a concurrent talk on fruit trees by Dr Pat McDonnell, who has developed a new type of low-maintenance apple tree suitable for small gardens. On Monday 29th John Hosford will give a talk and demonstration on planting containers for winter and spring colour.
