English conference

More Than 200 teachers from primary and second-level schools are due to attend the national conference on the teaching and usage of English this Friday and Saturday. The event, supported by the Department of Education and Science's In-Career Development Unit, will run over two days at UCD, and bookings are notching up rapidly. Organised in association with The Irish Times, it is jointly sponsored by the ASTI, INTO, TUI, National Adult Literacy Assocation, the Mid-west English Teachers Association and the Association of Teachers of English. The two main sponsors are the Educational Studies Association of Ireland and the R&D Centre at UCD's education department.
