The talk of education
Student protest in Tralee
Fair dues to the students. The country is suffering but it'd cost more to have all those kids on the dole for four years and we wouldn't have the foreign companies here if it weren't for our educated workforce. What's the alternative? Let all the youth emigrate without an education? We're already underpopulated. – Anne Gardner, thejournal.ie
Radio Kerry reporting that there was only 200 at today’s protest? Not sure where they got those figures came from.
– Conor Foley, Facebook
We gave out over 900 T-shirts between both campuses.

The more government we want in our lives, the worse this is going to get. We. Should. Live. Within. Our. Means. I wonder do these students do economics?

Live within our means but pay bondholders money that we don’t have to! Billions.
BILLIONS!

Protest in Letterkenny on Wednesday and the SU are offering nightclub passes to anyone that turns up.

So the motivation for protestation is tickets to a nightclub? I thought students were too broke paying fees to buy drink?

Susi: some grant payments to be delayed until 2013
Had to resend documents and not a peep since from them. Rang earlier and they couldn’t even tell me if the documents I resent two weeks ago had been received. So frustrating.

Students dropping out because their grant is a couple of months late? Hyperbole much? – Rónán O'Suilleabháin, thejournal.ie
Yes, upon reflection perhaps you're right. I mean, who needs money really. They can always go for a swim and live off plankton until 2013. – SilentFugitive, the journal.ie
It’s getting so frustrating at this stage. I got an email on October 12th asking for more documentation. I sent it off the same day. I’ve heard nothing since. Rang them on Friday and they told me they only got it last week so they don’t know when my application will be looked at again and it has been put to the back of the queue. It’s beyond a joke.

Carlsburg don't do student grants, but if they did they'd probably do a better job than Susi. #SusiSneer @Bantersaurus
Last week of lectures before Christmas, and not even a whisper from thegrants crowd. One of the Government's biggest fails to date? #Susi @mfinlay11
I think they are trying to speed everything up. I got my instalment today. Got two instalments.
