To mark the millennium, Israel's embassy has provided religion teachers with resource kits to help promote a worldwide competition which invites children to illustrate the Bible. Schools have been sent posters, brochures and video films with scenes from the Holy Land, to help promote it.
Each school is expected to submit three entries and members of the Association of Religion Teachers will select entries, which will be judged according to age groups: 8 to 10 years of age; 10 to 13; and 13 to 16. Each illustration must include the artist's name, school, age, home address, phone number and a passport-size photo.
The winner from each country will be treated to a one-week trip to Israel in next December when the world-wide winner will be announced in Jerusalem. For details, check the competition's web site at - http:// :www.bible2000.com
