WITH THE appointment of Fintan Hourihan to the post of public relations and information officer with the ASTI, all three teachers unions now have professionals looking after their images. Prior to his appointment on September 1st, Hourihan worked as a journalist with Industrial Relations News, a specialist publication with a wide circulation among business and trade union interests.

He has also undertaken public-relations work for the European Foundation and writes and edits Health and Safety Review.

Hourihan is a graduate of the University of Limerick, where he studied for a bachelor's degree in business studies. He has recently gone on to complete a master's degree in UCD.
