Ringsend Technical Institute has a number of full-time courses for adults interested in returning to education while retaining their social-welfare entitlements.
Apart from the Leaving Cert, the institute also offers courses in theatre studies, graphic art, design and illustration and office skills.

Music Network was set up by the Arts Council in 1986 to develop music throughout Ireland. The Network is now sponsored by the ESB and this month sees the start of a 10-week Music for Pleasure programme aimed at adults living in the New Ross, Co Wexford, area.
The programmes is designed around a series of lectures and workshops and the fee is £35 (concessions £25). Individual tickets are also available.

A second Music for Pleasure programme begins in Manorhamilton, Co Leitrim, on October 8th and runs until December 10th.
Age Action Ireland will hold its exhibition of services for older people at the RDS on October 11th from 11 a.m. until 4.30 p.m. Admission is free.
The exhibition brings together State agencies, care groups, service providers and companies with products aimed at older consumers.
