John Dundon (29), Hyde Avenue, is charged with threatening to kill a mother and her daughter at an address on Hyde Road on April 3rd-4th last.

Garda Christine Bergin gave evidence of serving the book of evidence on both men at Limerick District Court yesterday.

Garda Insp Jerry Horan applied, under section 46 (2) of the Offences Against the State Act, on behalf of the Director of Public Prosecutions for both men to be returned for trial to a sitting of a Special Criminal Court.

Shane O’Callaghan, defending, asked that his clients be granted free legal aid and he furnished the court with statements of means.

Mr O’Callaghan told the court that Wayne Dundon earned €170 a week selling horses and that John Dundon was not in receipt of any money.

Judge Eamon O’Brien referred the question of free legal aid to the Special Criminal Court.

Both men were remanded in continuing custody.

The Dundon brothers stood side by side in court yesterday and remained silent for the brief hearing.
