Republic of Ireland international Damien Duff has signed a new four-year deal with Blackburn Rovers.
Duff had been linked with Liverpool and Manchester United following impressive performances at the World Cup.
"Damien made it clear that he wanted to stay and both parties are delighted with the outcome of the negotiations," said Blackburn chief executive John Williams.
Blackburn have also completed the signing of midfielder David Thompson from Coventry City for £2.5 million sterling.

Thompson (24) has also agreed a four-year contract and will be eligible for Saturday's league match at Middlesbrough.
