A multi-denominational primary school in Castleknock, Co Dublin, wants full recognition from the Department of Education so it can get a permanent site for the school.
The school has temporary recognition from the Department, but needs permanent recognition so it can get funding and the permanent site for the school, which has 34 children and two teachers.
The school is currently housed in temporary, shared accommodation - organised by parents - which does not have sufficient space for the 90 children enrolled for next September.
Ms Marianne Hartigan, spokesman for the Castleknock Educate Together National School, said if the school did not acquire a permanent site soon all land in the area would be "swallowed up by development".
Educate Together, which is responsible for the promotion of multi-denominational schools in the Republic, is seeking an urgent meeting with the Minister for Education, Dr Woods.
