A DUBLIN-BASED aircraft leasing company has regained possession of a Boeing jet at the centre of a dispute with a Spanish airline, the Commercial Court has heard.
Pembroke 717 Leasing Ltd had last Tuesday secured an order from Mr Justice Peter Kelly requiring Quantum Air SA to hand over possession of the aircraft, valued at more than $12 million (€8.77 million) and based at Palma de Mallorca airport in Spain.
Quantum, with offices at Alcobendas, Madrid, was said to be in serious financial difficulties and no longer taking bookings.
The Boeing was said to have been idle at the Spanish airport since January 25th.
Pembroke 717 had expressed concern about its maintenance and the risk of it being seized in an effort to recover charges.
John Breslin for Pembroke said yesterday the court order was not in vain and his client took possession of the aircraft last Friday.
His client wanted an adjournment for one week to complete an inventory of documents after which it was anticipated no further legal steps would be required.
Mr Justice Kelly agreed to adjourn the case for a week.
