Six Dubliners were presented with prizes at City Hall this afternoon, in recognition of their contribution to the city's developed strategy.

The awards, presented by the Lord Mayor, Dermot Lacey, come in advance of the launch of the City Civic Forum, a permanent body that will facilitate citizen's suggestions as to the civic development of Dublin.

The six were chosen at random from hundreds of submissions received by the Dublin City Development Board in their preparation of last July's strategy document, 'Dublin: A City of Possibilities'.

The strategy aims to revitalise areas of Dublin, particularly the inner city, whose sense of neighbourhood has been diminished through the population and infrastructural changes of recent years.
