The 1997 Guinness Living Dublin Awards competition was announced by the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Mr Brendan Lynch at the Mansion House yesterday. The competition hopes to encourage civic participation to, make Dublin more attractive and to improve its social, cultural and commercial life. The awards are open to any individual, group, school or business. The event is organised each - year by Dublin Chamber of Commerce, Dublin Corporation and Guinness Ireland group. Entry levels for the awards have increased by 100 per cent since 1994.
