Gardaí and Customs officers have seized €3.5 million worth of drugs in Dublin.

A man was arrested under the Drug Trafficking Act and detained at Store Street station.

The haul included about 30 kg in cocaine, 1 kg of heroin and some 30,000 ecstasy tablets.

The Garda National Drugs Unit and Customs Officers made the seizure at about 7 a.m. yesterday when a lorry was stopped and searched on the Old Airport Road at Santry.

Seizures worth more than €50 million have been made so far this year.

The largest haul occurred last January when gardaí seized 1.6 tonnes of cannabis resin at a business premises in Swords, with an estimated street value of €20 million.
