Pat Dolan is set to become the new manager of Cork City, according to newspaper reports today.

The Sunreports that the current St. Patrick's Athletic manager is tipped to succeed Liam Murphy at Turners Cross.

Murphy resigned at the end of last season having failed to secure European football for the coming campaign. He has, however, taken the post of Technical Director at the club.

Dolan is reportedly unhappy with the sale of key players at Richmond Park. Goalkeeper Seamus Kelly has recently joined Bohemians, striker Ger McCarthy joined Shelbourne last month while Philip Hughes has moved to Kildare County.

Speculation regarding Dolan's position at St. Pats has been mounting in recent weeks following the club's poor finish to the season.

After starting brightly in the Intertoto Cup, the club's league form dipped alarmingly midway through the season and they only just survived a promotion / relegation play-off battle.

Dolan (34) has served as player, manager and chief executive at St. Pat's over the last 15 years.

A number of high profile candidates, including former Arsenal manager Bruce Rioch and ex-Liverpool star Jan Molby, have also been linked to the post.
