Due to an industrial dispute City of Derry Airport had no fire crew available on Saturday night, and a plane carrying 130 pilgrims home from Lourdes was diverted 70 miles to Belfast. "This quite simply should not have happened. It is an embarrassment and it should have been sorted out," said the Mayor of Derry, Mr Pat Ramsey, who ordered a full inquiry. The airport is owned by the city council.
