A NUMBER of disabled people are to receive financial support towards the cost of travelling to work under a new pilot scheme announced yesterday.

Anybody with a disability who has difficulty in reaching a place of employment is invited to apply for assistance under the Fares to Work Scheme, the National Rehabilitation Board has said. The scheme, which is supported by the EU, will operate until November 1997 and has about 20 grants available.

Those wishing to avail of one of the grants should contact the NRB on 01 668 4181 or 01 660 9544.
