Cable company NTL Ireland said today third quarter revenues rose 14 per cent on last year due to higher sales of digital TV services television sales revenues and improved business sector revenues.

For the three months to September 30th, 2003, NTL Ireland revenues were £17.9 million sterling from £15.7 million for the same period of 2002.

These revenue improvements were partly offset by higher disconnection rates following a more rigorous credit policy introduced this year.

NTL Ireland ended the quarter with approximately 346,200 residential customers. Digital television customers grew by approximately 6,300 to 59,600.

Average revenue per user (ARPU), which is seen as key indicator in the communications sector increased by approximately 14.9 per cent over the year to £14.15 in the third quarter of 2003 from £12.31 in Q3 2002.
