German telecoms giant Deutsche Telekom will pay $4.23 billion dollars (euro 4.97 billion) in cash for its acquisition of US mobile telephone operator VoiceStream.
The takeover, due to be completed tomorrow, also involves a share swap. The Bonn-based group said in a statement to the stock exchange it will issue 1.168 billion new shares.
Deutsche Telekom said it plans to increase its capital by euro 2.99 billion to finance the acquisition.
