US pop star, Madonna, who once said she would advertise for a man to father her child, is pregnant with her first baby and is "deliriously happy", her publicist said yesterday.
The father is her personal physical trainer, Mr Carlos Leon, who she met in New York, Ms Liz Rosenberg said in Hungary where Madonna (37), is filming the screen version of the hit stage musical Evita.
"He's not a movie star, you know. Everyone doesn't have to be. He's the man in her life and they met about a year and a half ago in New York," Ms Rosenberg said.
"It's going to go on as scheduled and she's deliriously happy," Ms Rosenberg said.
Ms Rosenberg said Madonna would continue with the filming of the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical based on the life of Evita Peron, late wife of the Argentine dictator, Juan Peron.
She said that Madonna and Mr Leon were not married, adding she did not know if they had plans to do so.
"Your guess is as good as mine," she said. Ms Rosenberg said Mr Leon was an American professional cyclist who had become Madonna's personal trainer.
"Who knows who's gonna apply for, you know, the fatherhood gig?" Madonna said last December.
