THE Government decision to remove Judge Dominic Lynch from the Special Criminal Court and appoint Judge Kevin Haugh to replace him was published in Iris Oifigiull on August 9th last.
The notification, in the name of Mr Frank Murray, secretary to the Government and dated "this 1st day of August, 1996", said under the heading "Membership of the Special Criminal Court":
"The Government have this day removed Dominic Lynch, Judge of the Circuit Court, with effect from 1 August, 1996, from membership of the Special Criminal Court established on 30 May, 1972, under Part V of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939, and have appointed in his place Kevin Haugh, Judge of the Circuit Court, to be a member of that court."
