Zagreb - Croatia released an ailing second World War death camp guard, Nada Sakic, from custody yesterday after dropping all charges against her for lack of evidence.
Sakic (72), one of very few women who has ever been charged with war crimes from the war, appeared outside Zagreb county jail and was aided by a prison guard and doctor. She had been in the jail since early November when she was extradited from Argentina to face charges of crimes against humanity and violations of international law, including torturing civilians, while a member of the Nazi-backed Ustashe.
