The DART service in Dublin is expected to return to normal today after a fire at the Fairview depot caused damage to trains and some disruption to passengers at the weekend.

Iarnrod Eireann said a full Sunday timetable operated yesterday despite Saturday's fire. The company expected to operate a normal DART timetable today.

Four train carriages worth around £1.5 million each were destroyed and two were badly damaged in the incident. A further 24 carriages were smoke damaged. The cause of the fire is the subject of both Garda and Iarnrod Eireann investigations.
