The Minister for Health and Children has announced the publication of his Department's customer service action plan, which is part of the ongoing Strategic Management Initiative (SMI) under way in the Civil Service.
Mr Cowen said that contacts between the Department and its customer groups, whether by telephone, by calling at the Department's offices or by letter, were the subject of specific attention in the plan.
The plan includes a new Customer Call-In Centre at its head office in Hawkins House, which will incorporate a new telephone handling centre for the public.
