A large attendance is expected at the removal this evening to St John's Cathedral, Limerick, of the body of Peter Judge (17), the pupil at Sexton Street CBS who died in hospital on Sunday afternoon 12 hours after being found unconscious at the junction of Shannon and O'Connell Street, a short distance from the teenage disco where he had spent Saturday evening with friends.

The teenager was the only son of Joseph and Sandra Judge, who have two other children, Annamarie (14) and Katie (eight).

Mr Tim Frawley, the school principal, said it was a dreadful tragedy. " The whole school, particularly the senior boys, are in a profound state of shock. Peter had a quiet personality and was a keen student who was good at his studies. It is devastating for his parents to lose such a good son and a fine pupil".

Peter was involved in school debating, was a former member of the CBS Pipe Band and a member of the local Dromore Celtic soccer team .
