Residents in the vicinity of Croke Park are calling for a public hearing into Dublin City Council's decision to allow floodlights to be installed at the stadium.
The council granted permission last month. Residents have appealed to An Bord Pleanála against the decision, and are also calling for a full oral hearing.
The Croke Park Area Residents Alliance, an umbrella group representing 10 local residents' associations, said there would be a "nuisance" associated with evening events and they were concerned that no limit had been put on the number of GAA, soccer and rugby games played at night.
The GAA failed to address existing problems arising from events at the stadium and these problems would be intensified if night-time matches were allowed, the group said.
