Man in court over Co Kerry drugs

Accused is charged with having €140,000 of illegal drugs for sale or supply

A man (25) appeared before a special sitting of the District Court in Killarney last night charged with having €140,000 of illegal drugs for sale or supply.

Shortly before 8.45pm, Mathew Waugh of Sackville, Ardfert, Co Kerry, was brought to court. He is charged with three counts – of having cannabis resin, cocaine and cannabis for sale or supply at Sackville, Ardfert, on May 31st.

Supt Jim O’Connor of Tralee Garda said the State application was to remand the trainee chef in custody to appear at Tralee on Wednesday, June 5th.

The judge granted the State’s application and remanded Mr Waugh in custody.
