Man charged over Tallaght pizza shop robbery

David Larkin is accused of taking over €2,500 in cash from till at Apache Pizza

A man charged in connection with a robbery at a Tallaght pizza shop on Sunday was granted bail on Monday in Tallaght District Court.

As part of his bail, David Larkin must stay at least 50 metres away from Old Bawn Shopping Centre in Tallaght.

Mr Larkin (40), with addresses at Allenton Gardens and Rossfield Estate, both Tallaght, is charged with robbing €2,535 in cash from the till at Apache Pizza, Old Bawn Shopping Centre, Tallaght, on September 6th, 2015.

Garda Stephen Murray told judge John Lindsay he arrested Mr Larkin at 1.10am on Sunday on Bohernabreena Road for the offence of robbery.

Mr Larkin was brought to Tallaght Garda station and questioned and was charged shortly after 6pm.

The court was told Mr Larkin made no reply when charged.

Mr Larkin's solicitor, Michael Hennessy, told the judge bail conditions had been agreed with the prosecution.

Mr Hennessy said the terms were that Mr Larkin would; sign on daily at Tallaght Garda station, reside at his address at Allenton Gardens, observe a curfew from 10pm to 8am, stay at least 50 metres from Old Bawn Shopping Centre and have no contact, directly or indirectly with the injured party or any witness.

Mr Hennessy was granted legal aid.

The judge released Mr Larkin on his own bail of €300 and subject to the above bail conditions and remanded him to appear in Tallaght court on October 19th.
