The Court of Criminal Appeal is to rule next week on the case taken by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) against the leniency of a four-year sentence imposed on Cork student Wayne O'Donoghue for the manslaughter of his 11-year-old neighbour Robert Holohan.

The court will deliver its judgement next Wednesday morning.

The DPP took its case last July after O'Donoghue was sentenced to a four year sentence for Robert's manslaughter after being acquitted of his murder at Ballyedmond, Midleton, last year.

Robert disappeared near his home in Midleton on January 4th, 2005. His body was found dumped 12 miles away in a ditch at Inch Strand 11 days later following an intensive search of the area

O'Donoghue had contended he killed Robert accidentally in a row after Robert threw stones at his car.
