A man and a woman have been arrested in Belfast after drugs with an estimated street value of €430,000 were seized this morning.

Police found cannabis and ecstasy in the couple's car at the city's port today.

The couple had disembarked from the overnight Liverpool when they were arrested, a PSNI spokeswoman said.

It is the second time in days that people from England had been arrested in
Northern Ireland following drug seizures.

Two days later grandparents Paul McSween, 49, and his wife Barbara 51, from
Lathum Close in Prescot , Merseyside appeared in court charged with possession
of the drugs and possession with intent to supply.

Police alleged in court the couple had been employed as couriers for an
organised crime gang.
