CARLOW
There were "major water supply problems" throughout the county. Water was restricted or cut off in many parts last night to resume this morning. Affected areas included Carlow town, Clonegal, Kildavin, Ballon, Graiguenamanagh, Tullow and Borris. Restrictions are expected to continue for three days at least. carlow.ie
CAVAN
Cavan Country Council says some areas may be without water while leaks are repaired. It had water tankers in place across the county including Cavan town, Ballyconnell, Virginia and Ballyjamesduff. cavancoco.ie
CLARE

CORK
Cork City In order to maintain supply, Cork City Council was cutting off water last night and tonight to resume at 10am. Most affected areas were in the north of the city while some parts of the south city would also be affected. The council says this should be adequate to refill storage tanks. corkcity.ie
Cork County There was an improvement but still a shortage. Fermoy water supply is expected to have at least another day of shut downs. Interruptions are expected in all parts of Mallow except the town centre. Macroom also experienced a shut-off in supply.

DONEGAL
The county council imposed water restrictions from as early as 6pm yesterday and appealed for conservation due to a record increase in demand. Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown There were water shutdown notices for many parts of Dún Laoghaire- Rathdown from 6pm last night until 9am this morning. Affected areas included Fosters Avenue, Marley Grange and Llewellyn Dundrum West, Churchtown South, Monkstown, Sallynoggin and Kill Avenue. Dublin City Many parts experienced water shut-offs last night from 6pm until noon today. These included the systems of Ballyboden, Slievebloom , Ballyfermot, Navan Road, Mespil Road, Anglesea Road, Rialto Bridge, Home Farm Road, Rathlin Road, Brunswick Street and Sillogue Tower. Fingal In Fingal, north Dublin leaks were delaying supplies returning to normal in areas where there were shutdowns. Water restrictions were being imposed yesterday in Castleknock, Carpenterstown, Lohunda O'Neill's Corner, Swords and Santry from 6pm until noon today. fingalcoco.ie
GALWAY
Galway City Residents were experiencing reduced water pressure throughout the city and water outages in certain areas. Water was being restricted from last night to allow reservoirs to recover but was not being shut off. Water services would remain "finely balanced" for the next week, the council said. galwaycity.ie
Galway County There were night- time disruptions to supply on all council schemes from 9pm last night. Supply was to resume at 9am but the council warned of intermittent daytime disruptions. Boil water notices were in place for mid-Galway, Gort, Roscuc, Letterfrack, Tully and Tullycross. galway.ie
KERRY
All areas of Tralee town had water restrictions from 8pm last night to be restored this morning. The council said this was to restore critically low water levels in the reservoir and to ensure supply would be maintained to all areas over the new year period. kerrycoco.ie
KILDARE
The county council reduced water pressure throughout the county from 6pm last night until 10am today. The restrictions were due to low water levels in reservoirs and were likely to continue for a number of days. The council was making tankers available for those in Athy, Celbridge, Derrinturn, Leixlip and Naas. kildare.ie
KILKENNY
Kilkenny County Council said there was low water pressure and water losses in some parts. Worst-affected areas include Inistioge, where the water was turned off, Thomastown, where many households had no water, Goresbridge and Kilkenny city, which had low pressure. kilkennycoco.ie
LAOIS
Laois County Council advised of major disruption in Portlaoise, Portarlington and Mountmellick. Water disruption was expected to continue for a number of days. Water tankers were available in Portlaoise, Mountmellick Portarlington and Abbeyleix. laois.ie
LEITRIM
The county council yesterday warned that supplies were being shut down across the county at night-time "until further notice". In south Leitrim this would be from 9pm until 8am while in north Leitrim the restriction was from 11pm until 8am. LIMERICK
Limerick City One of the the few councils that reported no disruption or water turn-offs. In its last notice on Tuesday, the council said it had adequate supplies of water to meet demands which were now running at 1.5 times the normal demand. limerickcity.ie
Limerick County The council advised of ongoing disruption of water supplies and regular night-time restrictions throughout the county until water levels were restored to normal, it said.
Unannounced disruption to water supply could be expected during daytime hours to facilitate repair of water mains. Boil water notices continue to apply to the Abbeyfeale, Kilmallock and Newcastle West water supply schemes. lcc.ie
LOUTH
The water situation improved in Dundalk yesterday with up to 40 per cent of reported problems restored. The council was continuing to restore supply to some 250 houses without water. Threats to supply continued in Omeath and Dunleer with pressure reduction at Tallanstown. louthcoco.ie
MAYO
Severe water restrictions are in place in Achill, Bangor, Ballina and Swinford because of a lack of water in the reservoirs and other parts of the county are on a "knife edge". The fire brigade supplied water to residents in Ballina and Achill yesterday. The rest of the county is also under pressure because consumption has increased following the thaw. MEATH
The council has identified Dunboyne as the most problematic area of the county with an intermittent supply. About half of the area had water yesterday. The Johnstown area of Navan is facing restrictions because it is on an elevation and so is facing pressure problems. There are problems with pressure or supply in Ashbourne, Dunshauglin and Stamullen, where water is being tankered into the local reservoir to maintain supplies. MONAGHAN
Drinking water is available in Monaghan town, Clones, Ballybay, Carrickmacross and Castleblayney. It is not reporting any other major problems. monaghan.ie
TIPPERARY
North Tipperary County Council Water supplies were due to be restored yesterday to the Newport and Ballina areas of the county which were the worst affected by the recent thaw. Elsewhere the council has said that demand for water has increased by 50 per cent in some cases. "This is not sustainable and will lead to shut down of supplies," it said. ntcc.ie
South Tipperary County Council There are restrictions from 9pm to 8am every night until further notice in Cahir and surrounding area along with Ardfinnan, Ballyhist, Castlegrace, Roosca, Kilcommon, Magheragh and surrounding areas. OFFALY
Water services department opened its offices to the public yesterday to answer queries about the supply. There have been particular problems with the Tullamore town supply. The council has provided water in three locations in the town and in Edenderry, Portarlington, Clara, Rhode, Daingean, Banagher, Birr and Ferbane. offaly.ie
ROSCOMMON
Water has been restored to most areas in the north of the county, but the council has warned of restrictions and possible shut downs later this week. No tankers will be available today, but there will be water available from standpipes in Roscommon town, Ballyforan, Monksland and Kiltoom. roscommoncoco.ie
SLIGO
Sligo, which experienced record low temperatures during the recent cold weather, is still facing severe restrictions in parts of the county. Towns including Tubbercurry, Coolaney, Enniscrone, Strandhill and Ballysadare will have continuing restrictions. WATERFORD
There is widespread disruption throughout the county, but repairs have been made to the east Waterford water supply. Tramore town will be subject to continuing restrictions as will Cheekpoint in Lismore, Glencairn and surrounding areas, Ballyduff upper and Tallow. waterfordcoco.ie
WESTMEATH
Severe overnight restrictions in Athlone and Mullingar. Standpipes will be available today between 9.30am and 3.30pm in several locations in Athlone, Mullingar and the Coole area which includes Delvin, Castlepollard and Multyfarnham. The situation is improving in Enniscorthy, Wexford town and New Ross town. Inspectors are checking for leaks due to massive use or waste in the River Sow area which includes Oilgate, Glenbrien, the Ballagh, Castlebridge, Curracloe, Screen and surrounding areas. wexford.ie
