Irish Nurses' Organisation members at Cork University Hospital's Accident and Emergency Department have deferred industrial action for six weeks following a meeting with the hospital management.
Nurses were due to go on strike at the unit on Monday in protest at overcrowding, but they deferred it pending the Labour Relations Commission meeting on Tuesday when an offer of additional beds in the unit was made by management.
