A 28-year-old Co Cork man was returned for trial to the current sittings of the Central Criminal Court in Dublin on rape and sexual assault charges at a sitting of Castlemartyr District Court yesterday.
Judge John Clifford remanded the accused man on bail, and because of the seriousness of the charges acceded to a request to certify legal aid for two counsel.
The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is charged with two counts of rape of a woman and one of sexual assault on June 13th, 1996.
