About 100 people attended a ceremony at St Michan's Church, Dublin, yesterday to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the deaths of two Co Cork men, John Sheares and Henry Sheares. They joined the United Irishmen but were betrayed and convicted of high treason. They were hanged on July 16th in front of Newgate Prison for their part in the 1798 Rising. They are buried in St Michan's.
