Contract signed for bypass

The principal contract for the Kildare by-pass was signed yesterday. The construction work will take over three years and when complete the road will reduce journeys between Dublin and the South by up to an hour. The £59.4 million motorway bypass is expected to remove almost 17,000 vehicles per day from Kildare's congested main street.
