Goin' loco for the Coco:While obesity levels are rising across the developed world, they're climbing even faster in Bermuda, which is now the fourth fattest country in the world, according to the OECD. Its government believes it has found the culprit: Coco Pops.

Many people have a massive bowl of Coco Pops for breakfast every day," Bermuda's health co-ordinator Jennifer Attride-Stirling said last week. "The reason they buy that might be because it's two for the price of one. How can we move them away from that behaviour? We have to see the motives behind their behaviour - a lot of it is cultural."

The Hazardous Area Response Team Unit and firefighters wearing specialist breathing apparatus arrived to find the source of the threat - it turned out to be emanating from the Thai Cottage restaurant in which 9lb of smouldering dried chillies were being prepared for Nam Prik Pao.

"I was making a spicy dip with extra-hot chillies that are deliberately burnt," said chef Chalemchai Tangjariyapoon."I can understand why people who weren't Thai would not know what it was. But it doesn't smell like chemicals. I'm a bit confused."
