The Minister for the Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands has presented the public consultation phase of the Review of the Arts Plan in Ennis, Co Clare. At the consultation at the weekend - the first of a series of eight public meetings over the next month - Ms de Valera said the report would form a key part in formulating future arts policy.

She said priorities in a new arts plan would include the need for the provision of a more regional emphasis and would examine ways of supporting disabled artists. The review is expected to be completed by the end of September.
