Turnover of construction firms employing 20 or more people has more than doubled to €14,569 million over the five-year period to 2005, according to data released today.
Figures released by the Central Statistics Office (CSO) show that turnover in these 728 companies increased by 19 per cent in 2005, compared with 2004.
The CSO survey found that 63,604 persons were employed in these firms and that this was up 4.9 per cent in 2005 compared with the previous year.
