Rio De Janeiro - A musical composer, Wellington Jose Camargo, was freed yesterday after being held for three months by captors who cut off his left ear, his relatives said.

The kidnappers sent a piece of Camargo's ear to his family, demanding a ransom of $300,000. When it was established that the ear belonged to the 27-year-old composer, a paraplegic since adolescence, his relatives agreed to pay the ransom.
